The new Buy with Prime benefit is coming in April 2022, bringing the shopping benefits we all love to online stores besides Amazon.com — like fast, free shipping, seamless checkout, and easy returns. In addition to offering the trusted experience Prime members expect from Amazon, Buy with Prime lets Prime members shop directly from merchants’ online stores. On eligible products, Prime members can see the Prime logo and delivery promise, signaling that the item is available for free delivery the next day, with easy returns.
Through Buy with Prime, merchants are offered the opportunity to build customer relationships and loyalty while increasing conversions. Based on internal Amazon data, Buy with Prime has been shown to increase shopper conversion by 25% on average. During the same time period, this data point measures the average increase in shoppers who placed an order when Buy with Prime was an available purchase option versus when it was not.
In fact, some merchants, such as Trophy Skin, have reported shopper conversions of more than 30% after adding Buy with Prime to their online store. It is important to note that this is an average. The conversion rate of Wyze has been increased by 25% and all eligible items in their catalog have been added to Buy with Prime, according to merchants such as Wyze. Hydralyte stated that after adding Buy with Prime, conversions increased by 14%.
It has been available to merchants on an invite-only basis since Buy with Prime was launched in April 2022. Since then, Amazon has been relentlessly improving their product and experience to ensure that their members and merchants receive the best possible product and experience. Buying with Prime has helped merchants succeed so far, and they’re only just getting started. By January 31, Buy with Prime will be available to all eligible U.S.-based merchants.
Buy with Prime merchants can also display customer reviews from Amazon.com on their own online store with a new capability. Ecommerce stores that show ratings and reviews can help shopper trust and conversion, and help shoppers make better purchases. On January 10, BigCommerce announced the Buy with Prime app for BigCommerce. It works with most online stores built with ecommerce service providers, including BigCommerce. Using this self-service integration, BigCommerce merchants can easily enable Buy with Prime on their storefronts. With this integration, Amazon is giving merchants an easier time onboarding and managing their business.
