Surrounded by all and with so much love and affection showered on you all this while, it sure is painful to be left alone for hours once the pandemic eases and everyone gets back to their normal outdoor schedule. For the beloved family dog, Sawyer, life becomes dull and boring all of a sudden. This boredom led to destructive behavior, such as chewing up furniture, destroying the remote control, and even tearing artwork off the walls.
The Amazon Super Bowl 2023 ad raises questions about what will happen to the mischievous family dog, Sawyer, as the family adjusts from the pandemic stay-at-home orders to their return to school and work. With Sawyer left alone for hours, his destructive behavior raises concerns about his future with the family. Further, with the family members are seen searching for a crate, which has raised concerns about Sawyer’s future. Will they consider putting him in a crate, or surrendering him, or will they find a way for both the family and Sawyer to happily coexist?
Fortunately, things end on a happy note as the crate is used to bring home another four-legged thing who would be Sawyer’s friend and playmate. The advertisement, “Saving Sawyer,” eventually turns out to be a heart-warming tale of a hale and hearty family dog who is driven to destructive behavior owing to boredom but instead of being punished, his family brings home another pet with whom he can play around with. The advertisement was a hit during Super Bowl 57, which saw the Kansas City Chiefs emerge victorious over the Philadelphia Eagles with a score of 38-35.
